Learn how to apply DIR®:Floortime™ principles on a daily basis

Introduction to DIR®: Floortime™ – Nelspruit

Worldwide there is a dramatic increase in the number of young children with social-emotional developmental challenges, particularly those on the Autism spectrum.

Research is showing that Intensive Relationship based Interventions (IDI’S) have better outcomes in terms of long term cognitive, social and emotional development. Early Intervention is the key, and the adults who take care of these young children with special needs need training, so they can facilitate social emotional development and apply environmental scaffolding.

This practical workshop will give those adults who deal with young children on a daily basis a greater understanding of how to interact therapeutically, and tools to enable them to apply DIR® principles in natural environments.

Who should attend?

Classroom Facilitators, Au pairs, Parents, Teachers and Graduates with an interest in working in this field, particularly those with a Psychology Honours degree wanting to get work experience in the field before applying for a Masters programme.
