Learn how to apply DIR®:Floortime™ principles on a daily basis
Would you like to train as a DIR®: Floortime™ “Player”?
Worldwide there is a dramatic increase in the number of young children with social-emotional developmental challenges, particularly those on the Autism spectrum.
Research is showing that Intensive Relationship based Interventions (IDI’S) have better outcomes in terms of long term cognitive, social and emotional development. Early Intervention is the key, and the adults who take care of these young children with special needs need training, so they can facilitate social emotional development and apply environmental scaffolding.
This practical workshop will give those adults who deal with young children on a daily basis a greater understanding of how to interact therapeutically, and tools to enable them to apply DIR® principles in natural environments.
The two-day workshop will cover the following:
• An Introduction to Intensive Developmental Interventions (4 hrs)
• Six cases, each with a different emphasis in terms of the child’s age, sensory profile and or functional emotional development will be presented, showing progress over time using principles of DIR ®: Floortime™ will be presented (6 hrs)
• Application of DIR ® : Floortime™ in natural environments i.e. At home, at school, especially on the playground. (4 hrs)
